Traffic Information

Roadwork may cause delays

There will be major roadwork in and around Rotterdam in the coming weeks. As a result, traffic may be heavier than usual. This may affect various Reizi transportation services.

A ride may take longer than usual. The taxi may also arrive later than you’re used to; of course, we’ll let you know if the taxi is running late. We do our best to provide everyone with the best possible service, but traffic jams and detours are beyond our control.

When will the work take place?

From July 24 through August 7, the A20 eastbound will be closed between Kleinpolderplein and Terbregseplein. Rijkswaterstaat expects travelers to allow for extra travel time, especially during peak hours.

From August 10 through September 7, the Algerabrug will be closed to car traffic. Starting July 20, lanes there will be narrowed and a lower speed limit will be in effect. As a result, trips to and from the Krimpenerwaard in particular may take much longer.

What does this mean for Wmo transportation?

Are you traveling using Wmo transportation? If so, your trip may take longer than usual. The taxi may also arrive later than expected.

We recommend that you book your ride in advance. If possible, travel outside of rush hour. It's often busiest in the morning and late afternoon.

Are you traveling to or from the Krimpenerwaard? If so, the extra travel time can be quite significant. In some cases, we’ll work with you to see what options are available.

What does this mean for transportation to day programs?

Are you traveling to a day program? If so, the trip may take longer. Your arrival time may also be different than usual.

We coordinate this with the locations as needed. The driver and the scheduling team take road conditions into account, but delays cannot always be avoided.

What does this mean for youth transportation services?

When using youth transportation services, the trip may take longer due to traffic jams and detours. The child may also arrive later or get home later.

We understand that this can be upsetting for parents, guardians, and facilities. Where necessary, we will notify those involved personally.

What does this mean for school transportation?

During the closure of the A20 during the construction industry’s summer break, there will be no school transportation. As a result, the impact on school transportation during that period will be limited.

If construction work extends beyond the start of the school year, this may affect student transportation. In that case, we will notify parents and guardians as soon as possible.

What does this mean for employee transportation?

Employee transportation may also be affected by longer travel times. Scheduled routes will continue to operate as planned as much as possible, but traffic jams may cause delays.

We advise travelers and venues to allow for possible delays.
